Darick Mead originally wanted to propose to his girlfriend the day she delivered their son, Ryder. But a 17-hour labor, three epidurals and an emergency C-section convinced him to wait until the following day. Instead of asking, he used a onesie reading, “Mommy, will you marry my Daddy?” that Susan found just before she changed the newborn’s diaper while at the hospital. The couple says they’re not quite ready to lock down a date and are looking forward to starting a new life with their baby.

Darick Mead had a heartwarming plan in mind: to propose to his girlfriend on the day their son, Ryder, entered the world. However, the whirlwind of a 17-hour labor, three epidurals, and an unexpected emergency C-section prompted him to postpone the momentous question until the following day. Undeterred by the change of plans, Darick found a creative way to express his love and commitment.

Instead of dropping to one knee, he let a onesie do the talking. With a message that read, “Mommy, will you marry my Daddy?” emblazoned across it, Darick carefully tucked the surprise garment into the hospital bag. Little did he know, fate would step in, and Susan would stumble upon this heartfelt proposal just before changing Ryder’s diaper.

The sheer spontaneity and sincerity of the moment added an extra layer of magic to their already joyous occasion. Susan’s heart surely melted at the sight of the adorable onesie, a testament to Darick’s love and their growing family’s shared happiness.
